The Spring Festival Overture was created by renowned composer Li Huanzhi in the 1950s, which adopts the melody and rhythm of "yangge" (a form of Chinese folk dance) in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, as well as elements from northern Shaanxi folk songs. With the Spring Festival as its theme, the bright, beautiful melody and clear, passionate rhythm vividly depict the jubilation of the Spring Festival.
